What is the Keto diet?
Keto is a low-carb and high-fat diet.

When I researched the keto diet, it looked simple enough. I figured this should be easy; I can eat bacon, chicken, steak, and pork. All I had to do is get creative with the sides.

Let the Keto Diet begin!

My Keto Diet foods and Exercise schedule

Breakfast week 1 & week 2

For two weeks straight, I ate the same breakfast. Cheese eggs with turkey sausage with avocado and salsa. The second week I switched to honey ham. I got burnt out eating turkey sausage.

Snack time

I was limited to certain things I could eat. I chose strawberry, cherries, pickles and walnuts and almonds. My snack choices helped with the dessert cravings.

Exercise
For week one and week two I went walking three days a week. It became my routine. I’ll go to work have breakfast, lunch and when I get off it was straight to the Park, and I would eat my last meal for the day.

Drinks
My drink choices were Sugar fee lemonade packs and water. I recommend the lemonade packs shown below. It tastes good and zero calories. YAY!

Dinner week 1 & Week 2

I started off meal prepping. I had regular baked wings and lemon pepper chicken wings with a side salad. Omg! Salads became my bestie during these two weeks. From pepper steak salad, chicken salad, and sausage salad. Yes, I got creative with my salads. I am now Burnt out on salads. Mid second week I decided to try zucchini noodles for the first time. I made a stir-fry. For my first time cooking the noodles, they came out pretty good. Toward the end, I tried a delicious lettuce wrap burger from Fuddruckers. It was yummy! And of course, I ended with a salad Again!

The Good

I read online that some people experienced the Keto Flu. I did not get sick, but surprisingly my energy level increased. When it was time to go for my evening walk, I had more energy. Another good thing, I notice my skin was clearing up on my face. Happy dance time! I tried on my pants this morning, and they were super loose.

The Bad

The end of the first week, I notice I was still hungry after eating my meals. Every day I made sure to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, I always felt hungry even with the snacks in between. I think that was my body way of breaking down the fat. STOP! I am not a Keto expert; this is what I assumed. Now, the strict food choices were something I had to get used to because you only could eat specific fruit and vegetables. The foods sides were the hardest, but I made it through the two weeks.

Overview

I wanted to try this diet to see how my body would react to the low carb intake. I Compared this diet to the 21 days No Junk food challenge. What I've learned is that cutting out particular foods makes a big difference. When I cut off junk food for 21 days, I notice the weight coming off just like the Keto diet. Eating the foods, you like only in moderation is key.

Will I do the Keto diet again? Nope!

It’s worth the try for those that want to lose a couple of pounds fast, but before you try it (MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH!

I am happy to say, "I completed the two-week experiment."  YES!!!
